Press Freedom Defense Fund Statement Regarding the Targeting of a New York Times Reporter

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New York, NY, June 8, 2018 – The Trump Administration’s draconian surveillance and targeting of a New York Times reporter is an ominous step towards a more authoritarian approach to the press by a White House that has already made it clear that it is at war with journalists, who are performing the daily public service of keeping Americans informed.

The Press Freedom Defense Fund’s mission is to help protect journalists facing just this kind of government attack.
